Reserve Open Versatility Horse

Elans Smokin Gun

Owned by Brad, Melanie and Allen Morse, Shown by Bradley Boyd.

2004 Stallion by Elans Playboy our of a Smart Little Lena/Mr Gunsmoke mare

History of Elans Smokin Gun
The Morse’s bought “Elan” directly off the Babcock Ranch as yearling with the intention of making him an all around horse.  The Davis Brothers, Jackie and Sonny, started him as a two year old and then the horse was sent to Bradley Boyd to further his training.  Bradley was able to train him through the winter at Barry and Linda Howton’s facility and in January of 2007 the horse began his show career.

Thoughts on winning this award:
Brad and Melanie and Allen are quick to say this was an honor for them, and they were excited for Bradley and the horse on their accomplishments.  They are very proud of their horse’s achievements at such a young age and can’t say enough good things about Bradley Boyd’s talent and work.

Events competed in:
Conformation, Tie-Down Roping, Heading, Heeling, Working Ranch Horse, Working Cow Horse, Jr. Reining, Reining Sweepstakes.

Special Memories from the World Show:
“We just want all the ARHA World Show Staff  and to know how much we appreciate their efforts at the show.  We also want to thank Bradley for his hard work.    The Morse’s say it was a definite honor to win the award, but their most special memory is, “all the new people we got to meet and the good times we had with them.”

Future Plans:
“To go back to the ARHA World Show”, Melanie is quick to reply.   More immediately,
Elan is currently ranked in the top ten in tie down roping with AQHA and qualified for the AQHA World Show.  They plan to continue showing him in roping events in 2007.
