Owned by Stacey Jones, shown by Carrie Dowell History of QTs Crystal Bear Stacey bought “Bear” as a yearling stallion prospect Clint Haverty showed him as a 3 year old, campaigned in NRHA, earning an NRHA Reserve World Championship and earned over $12,000 Thoughts on winning this award: For Carrie, this award was special because it was a culmination of many things. “Bear is such an honest horse and gives 110% at whatever you ask of him. I have such respect for him; he is so much fun to show whatever the event. We tried a few classes that neither of us had done before, and I was just amazed at the effort the horse always puts out to do his best. He is a TRUE show horse! I appreciate Stacey’s trust and the opportunity to ride such a special horse. Also we had such terrific help from friends and fellow competitors. Brandon Sutton, Jed Lawrence, Lucas Ayres and Ben Bowman kept me sane and tended to equipment details. I was so nervous at trying new events at a show of that caliber that I could barely breathe, but I have such faith in their abilities and help that not only did I remember to breathe, we actually placed in a some of them! We couldn’t have done it without their help. I want to thank Ernie and Byron for their patience, help and making the show fun, and especially want to thank Katie Hayes for always knowing just where to be, just what to say, and just what to do.” Events competed in: Conformation, Sr. Ranch Riding, Working Ranch Horse, Ranch Roping, Sr. Reining, Trail, Ranch Cutting, Barrels, Reining Sweepstakes and Ranch Riding Sweepstakes.
