Reserve Youth Versatility

Carly Soulard and Catch My Buzz
Carly is 14.
Catch My Buzz is a 1998 gelding by Chips Chocoholic out of Frosty Ann Skip
History
“Buzz” was purchased from a lady in Gallatin TN whose daughter had shown him in WFQHA, Carly explains, “He’s really not bred for ranch work at all and was actually showing in AQHA western pleasure and WFQHA when we bought him. He has numerous awards and World titles in ARHA and WFQHA. Buzz is also quite the sissy….He has his routine when I come to either groom him or ride him, and he likes it that way. He’s quite the character. I’ll never find another like him. Ever.”
Thoughts on winning this award:
“Honestly, to tell you the truth, I was so happy he got in the trailer in trail I didn’t care HOW he did the rest of the show! If you’ve ever seen Buzz in the trail class, you know why I would be so happy”, laughs Carly, “Winning Reserve Youth Versatility was just a bonus.”
Events competed in:
Youth Gelding 3 & over, Youth trial 13 & under, Youth Ranch Riding 13 & under, Youth Cutting and Youth Ranch Cutting.
Special memories:
“As far as best rides, I’d have to go with trail and horsemanship. He got in the trailer, so I couldn’t complain there. Warming up for the horsemanship though, he was a complete jughead! As soon as we got in the show pen though, he was all business. He’s so funny! I can usually tell what he’s thinking, and if you watch him standing in the line up, he’ll actually size up his competition. The horsemanship pattern he ran that day was perhaps the best one he’s EVER run with me. It truly felt like he had personally memorized the pattern and I was just there for the ride. Also between just about every class the kids in the clear span barn would be roping each other constantly! Me included. Ha ha. I do have to say that helped me in my roping classes though.” Carly adds, “ I want to thank my dad for not being on top of me when I came out of Youth Poles or Youth Reining, classes I totally blew. You have no idea how much that helps. I also want to thank Mrs. Mirenda and Laine Fischer for being there for me through the troubles of World Show. I can’t thank y’all enough!”
Future Plans:
Just keep showing and having fun!
